Pasco County to open shelters Monday

Pasco County is opening hurricane shelters Monday. All shelters are accepting family pets. The following shelters will open at noon:

• Centennial Middle School, 38505 Centennial Road, Dade City

• Fivay High School, 12115 Chicago Ave., Hudson

• Wesley Chapel High School, 30651 Wells Road, Wesley Chapel

• River Ridge Middle and High Schools, 11646 Town Center Road, New Port Richey

• Fasano Regional Hurricane Center, 11611 Denton Avenue, Hudson (Special Needs Only)

GoPasco (Public Transportation) bus services will be running regular routes Monday and is offering free rides to shelters until weather conditions deteriorate.

St. Pete Beach will deactivate all waterlines Tuesday

Starting 9 a.m. Tuesday, the city of St. Pete Beach will deactivate all waterlines as part of ongoing storm preparedness measures. By noon, waterlines will be completely offline until further notice. Officials say this is necessary to protect the city's water infrastructure during the ongoing weather emergency. During this time, water will not be available, and the following services will be impacted:

• Plumbing will not function.

• Flushing toilets will not work.

• No water access for cooking, cleaning, or bathing.

Pinellas County issues evacuation orders for health care facilities in zones A, B, C

Pinellas County landfill now open 24/7 at 34th Street gate for all storm debris

Pinellas County has issued mandatory evacuation orders for long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities and hospitals in evacuation zones A, B and C. This impacts six hospitals, 25 nursing homes and 44 assisted living facilities, totaling about 6,600 patients.

The mandatory orders are only for these facilities, but Pinellas County is encouraging voluntary evacuation for residents in Zone A, B and C and mobile homes in advance of possible mandatory orders Monday. At-risk residents can evacuate only a few miles to higher ground and safe structures outside of Zone C. If evacuations are ordered, the County will open emergency shelters.

Latest storm/incident developments:

• All Pinellas County Government offices, including the Clerk of the Courts, Property Appraiser and Tax Collector, will be closed Monday through Wednesday.

• All County parks and preserves will also be closed Monday through Wednesday.

• Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections will be open to the public on Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for voter registration. They will be closed to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday.

• The opening of a Disaster Recovery Center scheduled for Monday at the Florida Botanical Gardens, Magnolia Room, has been postponed due to the storm threat.

• The County Information Center (CIC) is open for preparedness questions. Call 727-464-4333. Residents who are deaf or hard of hearing can contact the CIC via online chat at bit.ly/PinellasChat

• The Florida Department of Emergency Management announced that anyone can take storm debris to the Pinellas County Solid Waste Disposal Facility via the 34th Street Gate. There is no charge for storm debris disposal and that gate will be open 24/7 until operations are shut down.

Sandbag distribution sites remain open for the unincorporated county:

• John Chesnut Park, 2200 East Lake Road S., Palm Harbor (Monday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

• Walsingham Park, 12615 102nd Ave., Seminole (Monday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Pasco County issues local State of Emergency; evacuations

Pasco County has issued a Local State of Emergency ahead of Hurricane Milton.

Mandatory evacuations will go into effect Monday at 10 a.m. for the following:

• Evacuation Zones A and B

• Everyone living in a manufactured home, mobile home or RV anywhere in Pasco

• Everyone in low-lying areas or areas prone to flooding

• Everyone in an area ordered evacuated by local authorities due to life-safety hazards

Voluntary evacuations will go into effect Monday at 10 a.m. for the following:

• Evacuation Zone C

• Everyone registered with Pasco as a Special Needs Resident

• Everyone who would be vulnerable in the event of a power loss

Hillsborough County continues storm debris pickup, launches temporary debris drop-off site

Hillsborough County has mobilized all available resources to expedite storm debris removal from affected residential neighborhoods including Dana Shores, Apollo Beach, Ruskin, Tampa Shores, Bay Crest, and Town 'N Country in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene as Hurricane.

To further support the effort, the county is launching a temporary debris drop-off site at its Resource Recovery Facility at 350 N. Falkenburg Road, Tampa.

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport cancel flights Wednesday and Thursday

The St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport is awaiting Pinellas County Evacuation orders to announce when the Airport Terminal will close.

All Allegiant flights cancelled Wednesday and Thursday. The airport is in a mandatory evacuation zone. The St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport is not a public shelter.

St. Pete debris dump site activated

The city has opened a debris management site for residents and their private haulers to drop off storm debris at 7401 22nd Ave N. Enter on 72nd St. and exit on 22nd Ave. N.

All brush site locations at the following locations are open 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.:

1000 62nd Ave. NE, 7750 26th Ave. N, 2500 26th Ave. S, 4015 Dr. Martin Luther King St. S, 2453 20th Ave. N

School districts to cancel classes

School districts in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties announced classes would be canceled Monday through Wednesday because of Hurricane Milton.
